Youth Sports Volunteer Coach

Make an impact in your community and share your love of sports by coaching a youth sports team. No prior coaching experience required.

Position Description


Expectations

  1. Coach submits required background form and ensures background has cleared prior to coaching.
  2. Coach attends at least 75% of scheduled practices and games.
  3. Coach abides by City of Evans Volunteer Youth Coaching Contract and City of Evans Youth Sports Policies.
  4. Coach communicates regularly with Recreation Coordinator to inform of missing practice or game times (at least 48 hours in advance, unless emergency).
  5. Coach communicates team issues and/or concerns to Recreation Coordinator throughout season.
  6. Coach must complete all trainings and certifications prior to seasons start. This includes Concussion and Mandatory Reporter Training.

 

Time commitment 

Practice is one day per week for 1 hour with games on Saturdays for Hot Shot Programs. Practice is two days per week for 1 hour with games on Saturdays for Extreme Programs. Coaches must attend at least 75% of scheduled practices and games. Some Extreme programs involve traveling to various locations across Weld and Larimer Counties for games.

Rewards/Vouchers

Volunteer coaches will receive a credit following the successful completion of one season. Credit certificates will be given to the coach to be used for future programs and the credit will be equal to the amount of the program the coach volunteered for ($45 for Hot Shot programs & $55 for Extreme programs). Successful completion of a season for a volunteer youth sports coach will entail the following:

  1. Coach must remain in voluntary coach position for one (1) sport season participating in practices and games set forth by the team members of the Evans Recreation Department.
  2. Abide by the responsibilities and expectations of a youth sports coach, set aside by the coach packet.
  3. All equipment is returned after the season ends.
